Course Description:

1- Infertility Evaluation and Diagnosis:
- Evaluation of the infertile couple (history taking, physical examination, and diagnostic tests).
- Male factor infertility: evaluation and management.
- Ovulatory dysfunction and evaluation.
- Tubal factor infertility and assessment.
- Uterine abnormalities and their impact on fertility.
2- Fundamentals of Reproductive Endocrinology:
- Hormonal Regulation of Reproduction:
- Detailed mechanisms of gonadotropin-releasing hormone (GnRH), follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH), luteinizing hormone (LH), and their roles in reproductive cycles.
- Discuss pathophysiology and management strategies for ovulatory disorders, male factor infertility, and other endocrine-related infertility issues.
- Feedback mechanisms involving estrogen, progesterone, and testosterone.
3- Assisted Reproductive Technologies (ART)
- Principles of In Vitro Fertilization (IVF):
- Step-by-step procedure from ovarian stimulation to embryo transfer.
- Laboratory techniques: oocyte retrieval, sperm processing, and embryo culture.
- Advanced Techniques in ART:
- Pre implantation Genetic Testing (PGT): indications, techniques, and ethical considerations.
- Techniques of cryopreservation of gametes and embryos: methods and outcomes. (Embryos, oocytes, sperm).
4- Intrauterine Insemination (IUI) and Alternative Therapies
- Indications and Protocols for IUI:
- Patient selection criteria and ovarian stimulation protocols.
- Sperm preparation and processing.
- Timing and technique of insemination.
- Alternative Approaches to ART:
- Gamete donation and surrogacy: legal and ethical considerations.
- Natural cycle IVF and minimal stimulation protocols.
5- Address Complex Infertility Challenges:
- Ovarian Hyperstimulation Syndrome (OHSS):
- Prevention, diagnosis, and management strategies.
- Challenges in ART
- Managing poor responders and repeated implantation failure.
- Strategies for optimizing success rates in ART cycles.
