COURSE DISCRIPTION:
In order to enhance women’s genital appearance, cosmetic gynecology is a profession that requires some specific training in both invasive and non-invasive procedures. This field primarily deals with the vaginal canal, surrounding tissues, and external genitalia.
A fellowship in cosmetic gynecology may involve the following procedures:
- Labiaplasty is a surgical procedure used to alter or shrink the shape of the labia majora or minora in order to improve look or ease discomfort.
- Vaginal rejuvenation is the process of tightening and enhancing tone and suppleness; it can be accomplished surgically or non-surgically with tools like radiofrequency or laser therapy.
- Clitoral hood reduction is a type of surgery where the clitoral hood is repositioned to improve visibility of the clitoris.
- Reconstructing the hymen through a technique known as hymenoplasty is typically done out of cultural or personal choice.
- Perineoplasty: Surgical correction of issues such as slackness or scarring in the perineum, which is located between the vagina and the anus.
- Monsplasty: Surgery to create a more aesthetically pleasing form on the mons pubis, the fatty tissue that covers the pubic bone.
