This course reviews the anatomical and hormonal foundations of fertility and couple-centred infertility assessment, including ovarian reserve, tubal and uterine factors, and male factor infertility. It covers ovulation induction, individualised ovarian stimulation and monitoring, alongside the IUI and IVF pathways from treatment selection to oocyte retrieval, laboratory processes and embryo transfer. Fertility ultrasound, embryo assessment and preimplantation genetic testing are considered alongside counselling, treatment risks, luteal support and aftercare. The course also introduces fetal medicine, early development, perspectives on personhood and the history of antenatal care.

Infertility assessment requires an understanding of reproductive physiology and the contributions of both partners. This course connects anatomical and endocrine foundations with the evaluation of female, male, combined and unexplained infertility.

The teaching covers ovarian reserve, tubal and uterine assessment, fertility ultrasound and individualised ovarian stimulation. It follows intrauterine insemination and in vitro fertilisation from preparation and monitoring through oocyte retrieval, laboratory fertilisation, embryo transfer and follow-up.

The course suits postgraduate medical learners and clinicians seeking a structured introduction to infertility care and assisted reproduction. It also introduces preimplantation genetic testing, embryo assessment and selected foundations of fetal medicine and antenatal care.

This course focuses on structuring couple-centered assessment, comparing treatment approaches and recognizing complications and counselling needs. Procedural teaching reviews oocyte retrieval preparation, technique and difficulties, while emphasizing the importance of supervised training.
